BUNTIS CONGRESS 2017 in San Mateo, Rizal

On July 16, 2017, Dalaw Kalinga Foundation in partnership with the Kalusugan ng Kababaihan Pangkabayanan (KnKP Inc) doctors, DZRH Voltracomm Group and the San Mateo local government, held a medical outreach dubbed as “Buntis Congress” at the Jose F. Diaz Stadium in San Mateo, Rizal.

The event, specifically catering to expectant mothers, began at 8 AM. Before the start of the program, there were a number of pregnant women who arrived early and were seated at the entrance. There was a strong demand for the medical services as there were many walk-in patients in addition to those who have availed of early registration.

After the invocation and national anthem, Dr. Concepcion Alfiler, founder of the KnKP Inc, delivered a lecture on obstetrics and gynecology. She emphasized the significance of the tests that will be administered to the patients, the importance of the results, and gave health tips to be observed during the course of the pregnancy.

The patients were then called by batches to the adjoining room where the volunteer doctors and the medical equipment were stationed. After the initial consultation, OB ultrasound and prenatal check ups, the patients were given a month’s supply of medicine and vitamins.

As the event drew to a close, the total beneficiaries reached 238. The number exceeded expectations as the volunteer doctors continued to accept more walk-in patients in the afternoon. The expectant mothers, many accompanied by spouses and children, went home happy and empowered by the knowledge that will help them have healthy babies.
