Last Thursday night, November 14, the initial Dalaw-Kalinga Foundation team reached Borongan, the capital of Eastern Samar. The DKF team is with SF DIRECT (Marikina), SEAGULL Rescue, San Antonio EMS (Pasig), STOUT, AREMT, DAY, MDRRMO Taytay Rescue Unit (Taytay, Rizal). Their joint operation is dubbed Eastern Samar: One Mission, One Team.

They used the 100KVA generator set to light up the provincial capitol. The generator set was left to continue to power the capitol of Eastern Samar. The following day they proceeded to heavily devastated Guiuan – the first landfall of super typhoon Yolanda. They are the very first rescue and relief team to arrive in that area.

In Guiuan, they joined the French non-government organization Médecins Sans Frontières or Doctors Without Borders and American Navy medical team for medical mission. The other members of the team were into fire, recovery and retrieval operations. On Saturday, the DKF ambulance was on stand by at the airport. Other members of the team joined in going to other islands and town through helicopter.  (Pictures will follow)
